Oscilloscopes are designed to view a time-domain waveform (amplitude versus time). Spectrum
analyzers are designed to view a frequency-domain waveform (amplitude versus frequency). One
advantage of using a spectrum analyzer is its ability to graphically display the composition of
COMPLEX WAVEFORMS.
